Catalog Description: Measurement, units, motion along a straight line, vectors, motion in two and three dimensions, circular motion, force, Newton’s laws, frictional force, work, kinetic energy and power, potential energy, conservation of energy, systems of particles, centre of mass, momentum, collisions, impulse, elastic and inelastic collisions, rotation, torque, rolling, angular momentum, oscillations, simple harmonic motion, pendulum, waves.

Textbook: Fundamentals of Physics, 9th Edition, D. Halliday, R. Resnick, J. Walker

80 % attendance for laboratory work are compulsory.
